The team at Square One has done their homework. They have literally studied water skiing and come up with what they believe is the next step. That next step is the RS-1. The RS-1 combines speed and stabillity. It is a fast ski, but also lets you “feel” the water underneath you and allows you to adjust mid course, if necessary. By sharpening the bevels, wake crossings seem effortless. “The more still and quiet you are, the better this works”- John Shealy.
Less upper body movement, less physical input is required with the RS-1. It is literally an easy skiing, ski. The RS-1 will create it’s own speed without tons of human force. Just as well as it tracks cross course, the ski will release outbound with slight movements of the body. Less is more when it comes to the RS-1, meaning more time on the water.

Light on the line, no need to “Slam” the turn.

Quiet Upper Body, less upper body movements the better.
Finishing the turn only takes a slight bit of drive with the lower body/knees.
The Ski is VERY reponsive to fin adjustment, so minute adjustments go a long way.

Ski Theory:
The theory behind the RS-1 was to combine speed and stability. We wanted to create a ski that was fast but you could also feel the water better and micro adjust when needed. We felt that by having sharper bevels we could generate speed with better hold and direction. As a result we believe that our ski tracks off the second wake much better to keep you early and up course.

Building Process:
We build skis in very small runs. This allows us to monitor each ski individually, with care. From the time the PVC core is machined, through precision cutting the carbon laminates, we can track the progress of a ski. The RS-1 is manufactured using aircraft grade carbon fiber and a unique resin system designed exclusively for Radar. Skis are hand filed, flex tested and recorded individually. The process of building an RS-1 is not a production run squeezed between making kneeboards, wakeboards and other products. They’re constructed in a facility built specifically for the manufacturing of hi-end waterskis.
