World-class water and snow ski manufacturer Dave Goode of Goode Ski Technologies knows exactly what the tournament water skier wants from a slalom ski. His ultra-light and lightning quick skis have littered the podium at tournaments across the world for more than 15 years. Expect more of the same from the 9900 SL. But there’s more to this ski than just speed. The ski was able to be pushed on if need be, and very symmetrical in the turns. “Out of the box, this is very solid, and super fun to ride,” commented Bruce Brown.
The 9900 SL responds well to skiers who have a more forward stance as opposed to someone who is more of a tail rider. The ski will keep moving through the turn, you just want to make sure you are forward enough on it to stay with it.
Keys to the 9900SL:
Forward stance/hip movements will help you stay with the ski through the turn.
Trust in the ski. It will “GO”, you just need to have your body in the right place to handle it.
In a rush, the ski will respond well to skier movements if necessary.
Words from the mfg’er:
Dave Goode gives his thoughts about the Goode 9900SL Series.
Ski Design Theory:
Design includes many aspect of a skis, however, Shape and Construction are at the top of the ski designer’s challenges.
Regarding Shape; we have shaped the 9900SL to be an easy transition from previous GOODE skis. It has generally a traditional outer profile with a slightly widened fore body. The rocker profile provides for fast acceleration and easy turn initiation.
Construction; The 9900SL is designed to be lightweight, yet powerful. In order to do this, we selected aerospace grade materials in order to achieve this attribute.
The first thing I want to hear from a skier after riding a Goode is:
9900SL-WOW! This GOODE ski is fast and turns easily.
What “style” of skier do you think your ski fits the best? NOT style of SKIING, but style of SKIER.
9900SL-The tournament class skier will benefit the most from using a GOODE ski. Long-line to Short-line.
Building Process:
GOODE skis use high quality/aerospace grade PURE Carbon Fiber and the ski remains 3 hours in the mold to ensure a complete cure of the resin system. Due to the patented construction process, GOODE skis do not breakdown or lose flex over their lifetime
