The second of D3’s rip sticks is the X5 Pro. This ski has been on the market for a few years, in some form or fashion, but each season, minor tweaks and changes have been made to create the X5 Pro, and X5 Pro Rose (Same design, just a softer flex for the ladies).
Have you ever had anything that was described as “Old Faithful”? Something you could turn to if nothing else worked? Well the X5 Pro and Pro Rose could be that ski! It is a very “No Nonsense”, “No Surprises” kind of ski. The skier will again want to keep a very balanced position and stay as relaxed as possible for this ski to keep a nice pace through the course. The X5 Pro and Pro Rose has more of a “Luxury Car” feel rather than a “Snappy” feel. That was just fine with the riders at the ISR. The general consensus of this ski was that it would only take about a set or two to be at your average or beyond with this ski.
Keys to the X5 Pro:
Balance on the ski is important.
NOT a tail riding ski.
A relaxed ride, no need to “force” turns.
